I am of restricted hearing and my wife is non. How tin we watch a 2016 model year Samsung Smart UHD TV whilst listening simultaneously on wireless headphones such as Sennheiser or bluetooth (me) and to the TV speakers (my wife)? This is a problem for many older people.
On older TVs I tin usually plug into the optical "out" without the Television set speakers being automatically muted.

Samsung and other TV makes have decided they know what y'all demand and restrict the way their TVs output audio. The but solution I tin can think of is to split the optical audio output. Connect a soundbar to 1 output and a headphone transmitter to the other.

Samsung and other TV makes have decided they know what y'all need and restrict the way their TVs output sound. The only solution I can call up of is to carve up the optical sound output. Connect a soundbar to one output and a headphone transmitter to the other.

I have the aforementioned problem. A splitter for the optical out does non piece of work. When I put the splitter in the optical out i don't get any audio from either of the 2 outputs. The splitter output lights are illuminated.
What I can do is use Bluetooth headphone, and concurrently power my external speakers via the optical out cable. I want to split the optical out indicate so I can have 1 leg going to my external speakers and the other leg to the transmitter for my wireless Resound hearing aids (the transmitter uses an digital optical in for the audio source).
I would appreciate your assistance.

You can have BT, TV speaker and Optical out working independently on all 2016 Samsung Television receiver . My father is hard of hearing so he use a BT headset while the residue of us use Tv set speaker or optical to receiver so home theater speakers on our KS9500.
Which Sennheiser are yous using? If you're using a RS120, where are y'all getting your analog indicate for the iii.5mm jack?
If you're using a RS165 or to a higher place with optical input, your problem is that the Television set is probably outputting Dolby Digital 5.ane thru the optical port and the optical in on the Sennheiser cannot handle it. Get into setting, under sound, select expert setting and make certain you're outputting PCM instead of bitstream or Dolby Digital.

I accept the same trouble. A splitter for the optical out does not work. When I put the splitter in the optical out i don't get whatsoever audio from either of the ii outputs. The splitter output lights are illuminated.
What I can do is use Bluetooth headphone, and concurrently power my external speakers via the optical out cable. I want to split the optical out signal so I can have one leg going to my external speakers and the other leg to the transmitter for my wireless Resound hearing aids (the transmitter uses an digital optical in for the sound source).
I would appreciate your help.
A lot of newer TV output optical in Dolby Digital 5.ane by default. Check the setting and meet if you can modify it to PCM (what your hearing aid's BT transmitter is looking for). If you can't change it to PCM but your BT transmitter can have a three.5mm audio jack, you tin apply one of this:
You'll see other Digital to Analog converter at a cheaper price but you need ane that supports Dolby Digital five.one input

You lot tin can accept BT, Telly speaker and Optical out working independently on all 2016 Samsung Tv set . My father is hard of hearing then he use a BT headset while the balance of us use Idiot box speaker or optical to receiver so home theater speakers on our KS9500.
As well have a male parent hard of hearing but want the residual of the family to enjoy the domicile theater. Accept Bose BT headphones and looking at purchasing the KS9500. What else exercise I need to purchase and how exactly exercise you hook up the configuration to use BT and speakers simultaneously?
Sorry for late reply, Been on holiday. You lot're all fix. Just pair the BT Bose according to the Idiot box didactics and Optical to Abode Theater. This merely works for TV or devices plugged into the Tv. If you have other devices plugged into the Home Theater System, then nosotros'll need to look for some other solution based on what Home Theater setup y'all have.

If you're using a RS165 or above with optical input, your trouble is that the TV is probably outputting Dolby Digital 5.1 thru the optical port and the optical in on the Sennheiser cannot handle it. Turns out that Samsung was apparently listening.......I had the same trouble (and question) and I constitute that on the newer models with congenital-in Bluetooth capability (I take the UN65MU6500), there is an pick (it'due south nether "General" Settings, then "Accessibility") called "Multi-Sound Output". This option will exist "grayed out" until you pair and connect a bluetooth audio device (such as headphones, etc). At that time this pick will become available and tin can be selected.
I only discovered this tonite while researching the problem and it works great! It even boosts the volume for the headphones somewhat over that of the speakers.
Promise this helps someone.

there is an option under "General" Settings, and then "Accessibility" chosen "Multi-Audio Output". This option will be "grayed out" until you add and pair a Bluetooth sound device (headphones, etc). At that time this option will become available and can exist selected which will allow yous to heed to both the Television receiver'south speakers AND a pair of Bluetooth headphones. This solved a real problem for me.
